Re: [django-district] Python Dojo: help organizing?

Excella's facilities may be a good fit. It's not DC proper, but it's one block from the Courthouse Metro in Arlington.  Let me know if you're interested.

Oh, and just to add about the geography: I'd personally prefer it to be in DC proper, and metro-accessible, to make sure the most people can get to it...

Hey folks,

Thanks for the helpful responses -- let me clarify what kind of space I'm looking for!
 - Space for 15-20 should be plenty to start out with, but we'd need some tables or other space to work in small groups, not just theater-style seating.
 - Weekday evenings are ideal since people's weekends fill up pretty quickly around here; say from 6:30-9:30pm?

Someone over on the DC-Python list suggested 1776, which might work -- I think I know someone who knows someone.

Thanks!
Rami

How big of a space? What are the preferred hours and preferred days of the week?

Hey folks,

I've been toying with the idea of getting a Python dojo up and running
here in DC -- trying to replicate some of the ideas from the London
dojos [1]. In my experience they've been great events to interact with
the community, learn some new tips and tricks, and do a little
hands-on coding. A very astute person reminded me recently that DC has
enough meetups where people talk at you, and a dojo might be a great
alternative.

Right now I'm wondering about finding a space for it -- ideally we'd
have a whiteboard to ideate, tables for teams to hack, and a projector
or big screen to share solutions afterwards. Does anyone have any
leads on a space that might be willing to give this sort of thing a
try?

Cheers,
Rami
