An overview of developing Metro applications for Windows 8 using WinRT, XAML & C#.
This will be a walkthrough of developing an application for the Windows 8 Metro experience and how to level key platform features in your solutions. Much of the time will be spent demonstrating in Visual Studio 2012 RC – no death by PowerPoint.
Daren is President and co-founder of CRANK211 – an interactive digital experiences company. He and his team are presently building applications for Windows 8, Windows Phone, XBOX, iOS and the web using various versions of Silverlight, WPF, WinRT and HTML5. Formerly the VP of Operations and CTO of a local consultancy as well as Custom Development Practice Lead for EMC Consulting, Daren has (too many) years of experience in consulting and application development. Over the years, Daren has worked on backend systems, service oriented architectures and is presently enjoying working with the XAML family of technologies.
