Andrew Westgarth - Lessons Learned Logging on a Large Multi-Product Platform

Details
Andrew spends all day working with ASP.NET code. He has recently been given a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional Award for Internet Information Services, for his contributions to IIS Community in the UK over the past year.
He's presented at numerous User Groups and Conferences in the UK and Ireland over the past 12-18 months on the subject of IIS7 for ASP.Net Developers.
He will be speaking about:
"Running a large multi-product platform has many challenges, uptime, SLAs, resiliency, security. In addition there is a huge support challenge, especially when moving from multiple previously on premisesbased installations to a product hosted in Windows Azure
Over the past 18 months we have learned a great deal about what and how we should log, aggregate and correlate information so it can be used by many audiences - customers, tech support, operations. In this session I'll cover where we went wrong with initial approaches, what we learned and how we are moving forward with a new approach and architecture. By sharing the pitfalls of some choices and mistakes we've made and highlighting what we're putting in place to fix them hopefully I can help you to avoid making the same mistakes."
