The Dragon Boat Crew has a two level dragon boat program. For a competitive team we offer a training program that promotes the sport of dragon boat racing and facilitates the development of strong minds and fit bodies through an intense team oriented training program to compete at the highest levels of dragon boat racing. We are looking for men and women who are willing to dedicate the time and will commit to to the competitive team. Ages from 20 to 50+.

We also have a recreational paddlers program. This program is for paddlers who want to compete but can not put as much time into work outs on land or on the water as the competitive team. We are looking for men and women from 20 - 50+.

Dragon Boat Crew is affiliated with Hope Afloat which is a Breast Cancer Team. Hope Afloat USA’s® mission is to help survivors of breast cancer make positive emotional, spiritual, and physical changes in their lives through the ancient sport of Dragon Boat Racing. We encourage survivors, regardless of age or athletic ability, to “awaken the dragon within” by providing them with hope, support, camaraderie, and adventure. If you would like more information about Hope Afloat their web site is www.hopeafloatusa.com or email parker_robin@yahoo.com

Dragon Boating is a team racing sport that started in ancient China. With twenty paddlers, one drummer, and one steers-person on a boat; we work together to cross the finish line. This is a very active group that is comprised of a mixed team, a women's team . Our on water season runs from April through October and our off water season starts in November through April. All practices are held on the Schuylkill River and each team practices twice a week. We enter 4 - 6 races per season, most in the greater Philadelphia area. We practice hard on the water and have a great time together off of the water.

If you are interested in a more competitive adventure please go to the "About" tab and look at the National and International Club Crews information. If you are interested in more information please let us know. Prior experience or specific athletic level is not required.
