Welcome Strangers!

New to the area? or just want to make some new friends? This meetup group, is about just coming out to a local pub/club/house in West LA (Santa Monica, Venice or Marina Del Ray) area and meeting others without the uncomfortableness of the typical bar scene.

Drinking with Strangers (DWS) is an incorporated non-profit for charity meetup group. Created originally for me to meet people when I moved to West LA from New York City in 2007, it has blossomed into LA's 2nd largest meetup group and a place where anyone (friendly) can come out and enjoy good company with hundreds of other easy-going friendly people to drink/talk with and make friends.

With the assistance of Randy (No Flakes) and Chris K (Dive Bar Adventures), DWS throws what I like to call, 'Hard Core Mixer Parties' which encourages people to let loose, dress up (many theme'd parties) and socialize and meet people in a city where its usually not so easy to do so.

DWS is free to join, and we strive to avoid any cost for our parties, though some parties require us to rent space or vehicals, or have guarantees, in which we pass the cost on.
