CDMUG April 2013 "Drupal vs Joomla!"

Details
"What's the difference between Drupal and Joomla!?" is one of the most popular questions discussed at our meetups, and our April meetup plans to provide answers. For our featured presentation we reached out to the Joomla community and connected with Justin Kerr who will present "Drupal vs Joomla!" based on his experience of working with both systems. To start, Fredric Mitchell of Orbit Media Studios will be discussing how to compare solutions with so many CMS options available. To finish, we'll wrap up with questions answered by a panel of experts in both Drupal and Joomla!
Still interested in comparing more content management systems? The CMS Association will be in attendance for a sneak preview of CMS Expo happening May 14th-16th. CMS Expo offers 3+ days of learning, discovery and innovation for its participants. This annual conference brings together business people and technicians, marketers and academics, creatives and administrators, to learn - collaboratively, like in "real life," all under one roof - what's new, relevant and actionable in the fast-changing content managment community. Duo Consulting opens their doors at 6:00pm for attendees to arrive, socialize, and hang out before meetups. We try for presentations to officially start by 7:00pm. Comment your RSVP with your full name and bring photo ID to gain authorized access to Duo's office downtown.

The Chicago Drupal Meet Up Group is proud to present at least two featured presentations about the hottest Drupal topics each month. We have room for 75 people and all skill levels are welcomed.
Fredric Mitchell will be presenting....Comparing CMS Solution Options....many questions popup when choosing a CMS solution. Fredric will explore the most important of those and compare varying solutions across projects such as Joomla, Wordpress, Plone, Drupal (of course) as well as the advantages of maybe using a framework like Laravel or Slim.
Justin Kerr will be presenting....Drupal vs Joomla!...Drupal and Joomla are two of the most popular open source solutions for powering dynamic web sites. However, despite their many similarities, the two CMSs differ in fundamental ways that impact project planning, cost, development and deployment. This presentation will not only demonstrate Joomla's interfaces and general project methodology, it will also compare Joomla and Drupal in light of web site capability requirements and key phases of CMS Web projects.
