First meeting of 2012 will be a focus on jQuery with Drupal.  We will start by covering the basics of adding the library to your site, popular modules to get started, and finish by showing how to create your own plug-ins for Drupal.

Duo Consulting opens doors at 6:00pm for attendees to arrive, socialize, and hang out before meetups.  We try for presentations to officially start by 7:00pm. Comment your RSVP with full name and bring photo ID to gain authorized access to Duo's office downtown.

The Chicago Drupal Meet Up Group is proud to present at least two featured presentations about the hottest Drupal topics each month. We have room for 75 people and all skill levels are welcomed. If you are brand new to Drupal we recommend attending one of our free monthly training workshops.

Erik Baldwin will be presenting....Site Building with jQuery....How to get started at the most basic site building level.  Popular modules such as jQuery Update, Views Slideshow, jCarousel, QuickTabs, and how to run a different version of jQuery alongside core w/o harming a single kitten.

Kelly Meath will be presenting....How to build custom jQuery plugins for Drupal....presentation will cover building custom jQuery plugins. It will also explain when to build custom jQuery plugins and why to use them. If time permits, we may look into Drupal's global javascript settings variable for storing and accessing data. A basic knowledge and understanding of jQuery and javascript would be beneficial.

Almost every CDMUG presentation is recorded and now available online @ http://cdmug.org/videos

For anyone interested in following along while I'm presenting, my slideshow can be found at http://erikbaldwin.com/presentations/jQuery-for-site-builders. Please use Safari or Chrome for the best experience. Firefox is okay to use too, but does not fully support all CSS3 3D transitions as of v9. IE has not been tested, but I'm absolutely certain that even IEv10 won't render it properly.
