SPECIAL WORKSHOP NOTES

• Please note the new TIME for this meeting is 6:00 pm.

• We will cap RSVPs at 45 people to accommodate the workshop format.

• Figuring 3 people per table, we would like to have at least 15 attendees with laptops pre-configured so someone to your right or left can look on. If you are a Drupal enthusiast and can have your laptop ready to go to serve as a table leader, please drop us a note in the Meetup.com comments section below this announcement.

THE MEETING
Drupal Commerce is a powerful set of modules written by Commerce Guys. It is built on Drupal 7′s core functionality as well as some contrib modules. This year Marek Gimza, working with our DrupalCamp Atlanta 2013 website team, used the Drupal Commerce module to implement the DCA Attendees Registration Page. https://www.drupalcampatlanta.com/community

For our November program, Marek Gimza will lead a workshop geared for non-coders, introducing the Commerce Module and demonstrating basic functionality such as triggers and checkout. We'll leave the door open for a future session for coders on "hide/show results".

PREREQUISITES
For anyone wishing to take-part, you will need to have Admin access to a Drupal 7 site (in advance) that you can configure. It could be a local install or a FREE cloud sandbox account with a hosting provider such as http://getpantheon.com (http://getpantheon.com/) or http://acquia.com/ .

Local Install:
Acquia Dev Desktop [http://www.acquia.com/products-services/dev-desktop]
MySql Database
Apache Web Server
Drupal 7
Drupal Commerce [ http://www.drupalcommerce.org/ ]

SPEAKER BIO
Our workshop leader, Marek Gimza, has over 20 years experience developing WEB-based and non-WEB-based tools/applications that support Build/Configuration/Release Management activities for large corporate enterprises within the R&D Sector. As most customers have had different requirements, Marek has had to choose the appropriate technology and language that would be most suitable for the customer and their product. Marek was introduced to Drupal about 4 years ago by a friend and has found it the most useful tool for building web-based content systems.
