The Media Initiative is an unofficial but well-supported community initiative to improve Drupal's handling of images, video, audio, and other files and embedded media.
At our next meetup, Paul McKibben will discuss the new media handling capabilities in Drupal 7, and the continued efforts to improve the authoring experience of media-rich content.
Products of these efforts so far include the File Entity and Media modules in Drupal 7. The Media Initiative is also trying to improve Drupal's default file and media handling by moving much of File Entity into Drupal 8 core.
This program is for anyone wanting to learn more about media handling in Drupal 7 and beyond, including project managers, site builders, developers, and themers. And if you want to get involved with this initiative, you will learn where to get started.
Join us Tuesday and walk away with with tools to help you advance your Drupal knowledge.
