Well, this is the final push. After months of planning and hardwork from the whole of the DS:London record team, the whole thing comes to an almighty finale this saturday afternoon for the actual record attempt!
For the two hours we have the main stage we hope to squeeze in a fair few things! We will have mini tourneys, the charity raffle, an exclusive demonstration of the Official World Guinness Record game along with lots of special people from the industry and media to mingle with. Yes, this will truly be one of the ultimate meet ups anyone will ever see this side of the globe. But oh...I guess I should mention that a special guest will also be in attendance, Nintendo themselves! Yes, that's right! We have ***Nintendo filming on the day*** to produce a 2 min short for the Wii Channel on the gaming culture of the Nintendo DS!
We have a girl gamer tourney, a chance to play other like minded gamers and (for the over 18's) a pub quiz in the evening, it is looking to be quite a fun packed session! So if you are undecided...why? Saturday night tv? Well, that's why we have tv recorders!
With current estimates at around the[masked] on people who we know are interested in attending, we still need loads more! Thankfully with a mention on the London Fringe along with contact to over 40 blogs, 50 forums, loadsa unis/college promotion and being mentioned on a few podcasts; we should make it!
Ok, so if you still reading this. Thanks! Please help a bit more by telling your friends about our website dslondonrecord.net to get the latest info! What's more as we mentioned before this is in aid of Children In Need, any voluntary contributions will go towards the a charity which will at the very least make ya all warm and fuzzy inside!
Come along and meet the nice and the friendly at DS London - the meet up for Nintendo DS owners. Play some games, have a drink, chat away and make new friends. Mario Kart, Pokemon, Bomberman, Mario, Brain Training, 42 All Time Classics and people!
Our meetup has been since 2006 (over 6 years!) and still going strong. We focus not just on the gaming but the social aspect of getting a bunch of peeps in a pub, so be prepared for nostalgic gaming chatters, news discussions, philosophical debates (well... sort of) and just what ever comes up.
We've done over 100 meets, Nintendo ds tournaments, a world record attempt and traveled to other cities to spread the word! Little wonder that we are one of the top rated meetups :)
