Sunday Evening St. Patty's Day Hike!

The St. Patty's Day Chocolate Ganache Fest on Mt. Hollywood!

That's right! We're going up to Mt. Hollywood on this beautiful Sunday afternoon and take in the gorgeous 360 degree views while feasting on Bob's "World Famous" http://img2.meetupstatic.com/1723755200050492932723/img/smileys/biggrin.gif homemade chocolate ganache!

This hike won't really be any harder than our regular Sunday hike as we'll be taking the "easier way" up to Mt. Hollywood, but it will be longer. Expect to get back closer to 7pm instead of just after 6pm.

So bring your hunger for adventure and your favorite fruits, cookies, etc. for dipping! I'll supply the fresh, warm, homemade ganache, you bring what you want to dip into it.

So, please take into account the longer run time of today's hike. Also, the LA marathon should be over by 3pm or so, but please check your local traffic conditions for street closures etc. so you don't unexpectedly get stuck somewhere.

The hike runs 2.5-3 hours and about 5-6 miles. Bring water and a long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt, or jacket if you get chilly easily. Optional accessories include camera, munchies, etc. And dogs are welcome!

However, the easiest way is to get there is to take the Los Feliz/Crystal Springs entrance to the park just off the I5 freeway. Go North on Crystal Springs into the park. At the second stop sign you'll come to a four way intersection. The ranger station should be on your right. Make a left at that intersection, go up the road a little bit, and you'll be forced to turn right into merry-go-round lot #1. Just drive through lot #1 and down the road a little ways and you'll be in lot #2. We meet at the South end.
