While this group's main event is the May - October Monday Night Outdoor Tennis League = Central Ohio's largest weekly league, there is a lot of indoors season tennis too. It is all about getting more friends playing tennis. And more friends playing better tennis. All while having fun.
The Dublin Tennis Group offers clinics, pickup games, weekend matches, etc. And so far in 2009, Rich Brown's Dublin Tennis & Social Group has raised AND donated over $8,0000 to Habitat for Humanity. Nice. And every penny actually goes to building the Dublin HFH Partnership's 2009 house.
Now that the summer league is over for 2009, look for some socials, some indoor events, weekend day time matches and a few major tennis events.
Started in 2001, this social and tennis group has very regular tennis events, clinics and a great and very large league. The format is really fun and handicaps players each week. Win and you move up. Lose and down you go. Not just by week, but by match. The organizer (Rich Brown) set's the first match partners / courts. After each match, you split from your partner. 3 set's is the norm. Sometimes more. Then social time at the Brazenhead Dublin Patio en-mass. It really is a great group.
For league play - HERE IS A BASIC RULE: IF YOU RSVP TO PLAY AND ARE A NO SHOW, YOU WILL NOT BE INVITED BACK. When someone blows off their commitment, that means we have a 3 player court. Which sucks. Same for last minute cancels and arriving more than a tiny bit late. If you RSVP, show up on time and ready to play. If you join the group, you need to post your full name, play level, experience, club affiliation, and to get Rich (The organizer) your contact info. for coordination of play / sub list.
In 2009, the biggest tennis event was my fundraiser on April 4, 2009. Check it out! Dublin Tennis rocks.
See Dublin Nightlife meetup if interested, or Dublin Running & Training Group. If you join, again you need to include your USTA Rating or experience level in your bio. Thanks.
