Lastly, in our choice of CMS, we are a game company and will have on our website static content, but also community forums, ecommerce, account registration/login, some degree of personalization per user (based on usage patterns), and some rating/recommendation systems for content and users. I know that's a lot, and we wouldn't launch with all those features but release them over time. In which CMS (Drupal or eZ Publish) would this be more efficient to accomplish? In which would non-developers have an easier time of operating the website?

What about website performance in Drupal vs. eZ?

On the Drupal side, as with most things, the answer is "Depends on the modules". The Drupal community has developed a number of caching modules, and I wouldn't recommend scaling to load without one. In general, reverse proxy systems like Varnish are the great equalizers in terms of performance. With careful design of a caching architecture, you can really make either system scale to massive loads, and developers have done so for both.

Without reverse proxy caching, I'd give the edge to eZ Publish, but I'm sure I can find a Drupal developer that would disagree. :-)

I heard a rumour that there are a couple projects that are doing continuous integrations of ez5 ... can you say anything specific about these?

There is the "demo" project that is being done internally, and this is well known, but I heard as well that a very significant client in Europe is doing an eZ5 integration on their own dime as a way of testing compatibility and stability. I think the latter project would be hugely significant for helping to decide when to start adopting eZ5 for big projects. But this info is a rumour and might not be ready for prime time.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
