Organizer Rewards - New Program for 2012 / 2013

Lots of new members, welcome to all of you!

Ecospirit is a member driven outdoor adventure club that was created by me back in 1999. Core membership is now and always will be provided at no charge and that means we need to rely on volunteer organizers to create events for our members to participate in.

I have been pondering different methods of inspiring new members to pick up the organizer role and have come up with the Organizer Rewards Program to achieve that goal.

The idea is simple... provide rewards for members who organize events. Click this link to review the program in greater detail.

As always, organize any kind of event you like, pick an event that is within your current skill and experience level. It can be anything from an easy day trip , even something as simple as a walk or run along the Stanley Park Seawall up to difficult, remote multi-day expeditions or anything in between.

If you have any questions regarding how to post events, what type of event to post or just general questions about Ecospirit, email me and ask.

Testimonial: Ecospirit has been an amazing benefit to my life. In 99 I did not have an active outdoor social circle and as a result many of my trips at that time were solo adventures. These were fun but there came a point where I wanted to connect with others who shared my interest/passion for outdoor adventure and I created Ecospirit to bridge this gap. In the resulting 10+ years I have met so many amazing people, developed a large circle of adventurous friends and have shared in hundreds of adventures with many of them. I want to share this benefit with all of you, it does not take any particular expertise to be an event organizer, be up front with your experience and qualifications from the start, even if they are non-existent, start easy and learn from there. You will generally find that people applaud you for taking the initiative, appreciate your efforts and will want to support you however they can.

Let me know if you have any questions or ideas, I am looking for people who would like to take on more responsibility within the club.
