This is a one way walk meeting at Dalmeney Train Station walking to Kirkliston via Craigiehill. The walk follows mostly farm tracks, paths and the old railway line. There is a short scramble up a track to get to the top of Craigiehill to see excellent views of Edinburgh and surrounding areas, so decent walking boots should be worn otherwise though this is a gentle easy level walk. Catch the 1.39pm train from Edinburgh Waverly to Dalmeny due in at 1.54pm. We will meet you off the train. A single train ticket is £3.60. Coming back from Kirliston there is a regular bus service (First buses 38) running every 15 minutes back to Edinburgh. Dogs welcome but may need to be on lead in parts when walking along side of roads. Normal cost for walks £1 but this has been waived in the meantime as we have collected enough funds this year to pay Meetup fees. Walkers are responsible for their own safety, and no member or organizer from the group can be held responsible in case of any mishap. By signing up for this walk you are understood to have agreed to these terms. I'll be heading for a pint or two in a local pub in Kirliston after the walk if I can find any that accept dogs. Members welcome to join me for an after walk drink and social.
