Edtech Investor Speed-Date! Hosted by Edmix & Nesta Impact Investments

Do you run an education technology business - and are looking for investment?

Have you successfully raised money - and wish to raise more?

Or perhaps you're developing the next Edmodo or ClassDojo - a killer edtech business idea and want to raise your first seed round?

If so - please come down to Edtech Investor Speed-Date - hosted by edtech community Edmix, and charity and social investor, Nesta Impact Investments, on 19th March at Goolge Campus, Shoreditch, from 6.45pm

At the heart of the new 'Edtech Season', run by Emerge Venture Labs at Google Campus - Edmix and Nesta are joining forces to host an evening dedicated to connecting you with investors and institutionals in the edtech sector.

Like traditional speed-dating, you will be given the opportunity to spend 3 minutes with each investor: to present your business in its best light, swap business cards - and when the bell rings, move onto your the next investor, what an opportunity!

We're creating an evening that offers you a fantastic new network of edtech investors - breaking out from the traditional panel-style format, to a more intimate one-to-one session.

We're very lucky to welcome Gary Leboff - one of the UK's leading business coaches to work with you throughout the evening on your pitching skills and presentation confidence!

Gary is a leading sports psychologist with clients including Premier League footballers, Olympians and professional golfers.  Gary has adapted sports-related strategies to the demands of corporate team building and motivation to "give you the tools and techniques to think like a champion."

Gary with will be working with smaller groups throughout the evening. Watch Gary in action: https://www.tutorfair.com/tutor/name/gary/id/299/profile

Cheers Ed good event but more time and less noise (another room for those pitching maybe?) would have been good :)

I think I can echo a lot of the points made here, Ed great event overall and with some polish a real winning formula IMHO.

Plus points, great positive vibes in the room, interesting mix of Edtech and investors, great management of the 3 minute pitches which can go horribly wrong if not ruthlessly applied. Bad points, beer ran out :) , room too noisy, need to run more to time, lots of hanging around at start.

Suggest a reduction in edtech's pitching, opportunity to follow up on the night if only to agree some actions (email, call, send business plan etc) perhaps this could be in the form of a card that each investor gives out at the end of the pitch with their details and the action they would like next?

But as said overall well done Ed and Nesta lady whose name I forget sorry

Very buzzy event. Sometimes a little too buzzy - I had to practically shout to be heard by the investors. I understand why 3 minute pitches were necessary but that time scale presented a challenge. Will need a number of follow up discussions and meetings. Overall an excellent event; well done Ed.

Hi Khan, thanks for the note. Anyone can attend the event this event (and network, grab a drink etc). We're at capacity (why we needed your 300x words) - so you won't have a chance to pitch… but please come say hi and network!
