==================================================

Election Action is both an educational forum and a springboard for action, designed for people who are interested in strengthening the legitimacy of our government by working to get common-sense election reform and related laws passed in the legislature.

We are a non-partisan, coalition-based grassroots activist group dedicated to federal, state, and local electoral reform. We discuss, debate, and advocate for specific election reform and "good government" objectives.

In the process, we learn how empowering it is to make direct contact with our representatives, the media, and the general public in order to pass laws that will strengthen our democracy.

Current Campaigns (full details in About Us > Campaign Notes):

Instant Run-off Voting (MA Ballot Initiative)
Election Day Registration (MA Bill)
National Popular Vote (MA Bill)

We work toward legislative victory by:

1) Creating innovative, provocative public awareness campaigns.
2) Lobbying our representatives at the state and local levels.
3) Connecting latent volunteer energy with existing reform organizations to bolster their campaigns.

We welcome any and all interested folks!

      “I used to live in LA and in CA we have the ballot initiative process. Since moving here last year I see a huge disconnect between the government and the citizens in Somerville. Business runs the place without the voices of the citizens at the table.”
