Considered one of the leading spokespersons of the emerging church movement, McLaren is a former board member of Emergent Village (http://emergentvillage.com/); a growing, generative friendship among missional Christian leaders, and serves as a board member for Sojourners (http://www.sojo.net/): Christians for Justice and Peace. He was recognized in 2005 as one of Time magazine's "25 Most Influential Evangelicals in America."
