ABOUT THE PANELISTS

 William Carleton is a member of McNaul Ebel Nawrot & Helgren PLLC. Drawing on experience that spans the history of the Web, Bill counsels entrepreneurs, technologists, investors, board directors and executives who found, nurture and monetize growing companies. Bill blogs daily at Counselor @ Law (http://wac6.com) and is frequently quoted on topics ranging from social media, to securities law reforms, to the #Occupy Wall Street movement. He is also one of the two lawyers behind Startup Trivia, an app for iOS and Android with daily questions about startup law and culture.

 Steve Cook (Certified Public Accountant) graduated with a BBA with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of Washington and was nominated to Beta Alpha Psi. He passed the CPA exam on the first attempt and started career with a strong local CPA firm where he worked with local companies. Steve moved to an international firm where he got involved in public offerings and public company audits. He started his own practice where he has worked with startups to large companies, helping several companies grow from concept to public offering. He's helped others from micro to hundreds of employees in multi-states which were then bought out by national companies.

 Adam Philipp is the Founder of ÆON Law has been involved in the strategy and prosecution of patent applications in the software, electrical devices, consumer products and related fields since 1998 and with Internet and technology related law since 1995. Ever the entrepreneur; Adam also can be found creating iPhone apps and electronic gadgets.

 John J. Tollefsen (Tollefsen Law) obtained a degree in Business Administration and started his practice with the goal of helping entrepreneurs build successful businesses. He has added to his knowledge and experience through more than 37 years of legal practice and his own entrepreneurial endeavors. He has worked on many private and public financings in a wide range of industries. After representing hundreds of businesses from formation through their inevitable challenges (like litigation or even bankruptcy), he has developed an unusually broad background to assist entrepreneurs. He has offices in Oregon, Washington, and New York.

 Joe Wallin (Partner, Davis Wright Tremaine LLP) is a business transactions attorney whose practice focuses on emerging, high growth, and startup companies. Joe frequently represents companies in angel and venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, and other significant business transactions. Joe also represents investment funds, investors, and acquirers of businesses. He provides general counsel services to companies of all sizes, from startup to post-public, and is the founder of startuplawblog.com. Joe has been selected to "Washington Super Lawyers" in Law & Politics and in addition he has been written up twice and pictured once in TechCrunch!

    Overall a great presentation, and I appreciated the varying view points. One of the panelists seemed to be giving sketchy advice, but it was good to see others present alternatives that seemed to have more support. It certainly gave a variety of view ponts, which was educational to know about what issues to consider.
