A (nursing) mother cat where I live literally came to my window crying for help. She was starving and has several kittens. She is GORGEOUS and extremely affectionate and sweet. As hungry as she was, she grabbed the food I gave her and she immediately ran it over to her kittens. She is not feral, but her kittens are. I'm in the process of trying to humanely trap the kittens and adopt them out as well as eventually (as soon as we get the kittens safely, etc.) spaying mom. Given my current limited resources (I have a rescue non-profit that I created, but it's in NJ), I'm wondering if anyone could be so kind as to assist in any way -? Some things we will please need are:
Please keep in mind that I've been in touch with the LA Cat Rescue community and they say this is "Kitten Season" here - they are so overwhelmed, they are not taking in any more kittens/cats. People are bring BOXES and BOXES of kittens to the shelters. Unfortunately, the shelters are so overloaded with homeless animals, there is no room nor resources to help socialize them, etc. and they are "putting down" (killing) the kittens in the back within HOURS.
Please let me know if you can help at all - and remember, always SPAY & NEUTER your cats AND your neighborhood cats and help reduce the 4-5 MILLION innocent, healthy cats and dogs being unnecessarily killed in shelters annually.
