Please join the West Los Angeles Group of the Sierra Club to learn about “The Sierra Club’s Wilderness Travel Course” from Peter Johnston, Rory Abbott, and Pamela Sivula from the Wilderness Travel Course in West LA.
For over 40 years, experienced Sierra Club instructors have taught wilderness skills to thousands of Southern Californians. Each year we instruct several hundred students in small groups with a very high instructor to student ratio that provides plenty of one on one instruction. These small groups remain together for the duration of the class, building a true sense of camaraderie among the students.
Learn to feel at home with wilderness navigation, mountain and snow travel. Acquire skills in planning, preparation, equipment and wilderness safety to take you into the backcountry in all seasons, beyond roads and trails, with new friends who share your interest in the outdoors. For many, WTC provides not only valuable skills and knowledge, but also lasting friendships.
Registration opens July 15, 2017 for the 2018 class! For more information about the Wilderness Travel Course, which begins in January, 2018, click HERE (http://www.wildernesstravelcourse.org/) to go to the WTC website.
This free educational event is sponsored by the West Los Angeles Group of the Sierra Club’s Angeles Chapter. Plenty of free lighted parking. Refreshments are served and there is always a lively talk accompanying the program. Feel free to bring a friend; all meetings are open to members and non-members of the Sierra Club.
