Antarctic Adventure: Sights and Sounds from the Trip of a Lifetime

Details

There are few places more beautiful than the world's southernmost continent. Although 99 percent of Antarctica is covered with ice, the landscape still manages to be stunningly diverse—surreal blue glaciers, active volcanoes, and 360-degree views of untouched snow. And those views are made even better when an emperor penguin or humpback whale makes an appearance. There truly is nowhere else on Earth like this pristine world of ice.

In November, 2016, Ron spent 11 days on an adventure of a lifetime: An expedition cruise to Antarctica. Every day for seven days, he went ashore twice a day at different locations around and on the Antarctic Peninsula. His stunning slide show/video includes beautiful wildlife, geologic features and spectacular scenery.

This free educational event is sponsored by the West Los Angeles Group of the Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club.

Event details: Thursday, May 10th, 2018 at 7pm at Culver City Veterans Memorial Auditorium in the Garden room, 4117 Overland Ave., Culver City 90230. Plenty of free lighted parking.
