Traditional Chumash Indian Healing

The Chumash are the Native American people who historically inhabited the central and southern coastal regions of California. For thousands of years, the Chumash used a variety of native plants as medicines. These plants still grow in our local mountains and continue to provide a source of healing power.

Dr. Adams is an expert on the treatment of pain and chronic pain. He will teach how to make California plant medicines that treat pain and cure chronic pain. He will also talk about living in balance, women's health issues, respiratory diseases and other conditions.

Dr. Adams is an associate professor of pharmacology at USC and has written over 160 publications and six books including "Healing with Medicinal Plants of the West" with renowned Chumash medicine woman Cecilia Garcia.
