ECRA is sponsored and hosted by the North Alabama Freethought Association (NAFA), but is an independent group. NAFA is paying for and sponsoring the Meetup, but the group is locally organized by Amy. Please contact Amy if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

ECRA is your opportunity to meet other local Rationalists: Freethinkers, Atheists, Agnostics, Skeptics, Secularists, Secular Humanists, Humanists, Brights, Naturalists, etc. that reside in the greater Etowah County area.

We're looking forward to meeting you!

What members are saying

Great group. An understanding, loving, accepting group. Could use more direction and focus, but this will come with practice.

I can't think of any reason why anyone would want to join a group consisting of rude, inconsiderate members.

“Hey Zach, just wanted to say hi. I am not from Alabama originally, and believe me, I get tired of "religious ideas" and "institutions." As it says in my profile I am not an atheist, but I welcome people of all belief systems, atheists and agnostics. Have a great day. Chelle”

“I recently moved to Jacksonville, AL from RHode Island and it simply could not be any different. Nearly every friend I had was an atheist and we could all relate and talk about our own world views, but down here everybody is a Baptist.”

“I like to talk with people about a wide variety of topics. I see that this is the only group that is within 5 miles of Gadsden. Even though I am not an atheist, would I still be welcome? Would like to learn more about the area & things to do. Thanks.”
