Evanston Social Game Meetup Pages

One day a couple of friends were discussing how we would like to play certain games but we did not have enough people. There are many games that need a critical mass of players or they are just no fun. We also discussed how we could never have too many fun and intelligent friends. In that moment, this game group was born.

We will meet every Sunday. Don't forget: There is free parking in Evanston on Sundays!

Here are a couple of guidelines we would like to encourage:

1) If you are willing to order food and beverages to support Cafe Ambrosia's generosity in offering us a gathering place, then "Thank You!" (It is not required that you buy anything, though.) We want to appreciate Cafe Ambrosia in a way that they can appreciate. Hopefully, we will be such a good group that they will look forward to seeing us.

2) Bring and share your favorite games. The only games there will be those we bring.

3) Laugh, have fun and meet new people.

4) At this time, we can only accommodate unplugged games. Also, no gambling, porn, LARP, dangerous or drinking games please.

5) Ask around at the gathering if anyone would like to play your game with you. There is no guarantee that you will have any takers but you can ask.

6) Perhaps you could try games that you have not tried before.

7) Gamers will teach and help each other with the games. Those who know the rules should not prey on those who are still learning.

8) Only play a game if you want to. If you just want to watch or chat, then do that.

9) Bring friends - Lots of them. Bring friends of friends and even relatives if you have to. You might want to leave the cat at home, though.

10) Feel free to show up even if you have not RSVPed.

11) Arrive when you want and leave when you want. We will have to leave when Cafe Ambrosia closes, though.

12) If you need adjustments to accommodate your needs (accessibility issues or anything else) then just ask. We offer a willingness to look into it but we can make no guarantees for resolving the issue. Still, we will try.
