Internationals Meet for Fun (IMF) - Philadelphia Chapter Pages

Are you an expat in the US? Have you spent time in lots of different countries? Do you find that you often click instantly with international folk? Has someone from a different continent told you a story that resonated with you because you, like the other person, were from a developing country? Are you an American focused on other cultures and languages? This is the group for you!

Rules four our group: (modeled after the rules of other meetup groups)

1. At restaurants, each attendee will pay for his or her own consumption plus at least 20% for tax and tip. We do not split the bill by the number of attendees as some of us (such as Juanita, who is a school teacher) purposely choose less expensive dishes to fit our budget.

2. No Shows - When an event has limited attendance, it is especially important to show up if one rsvp's "yes". Otherwise, one is taking up a spot that someone else might have enjoyed, and is also not fair to the restaurant at which we have a reservation. A no show without changing one's rsvp by 9 in the morning of the day of the event will receive a gentle reminder on the event page. Three such "no shows" will result in being deleted from the group's member list without notice.

************However: when you *do* show up for an event, your no show history is deleted. We are a forgiving group. :) *************************************************************

3. It is better to be late to an event than to no show.

And, that is all.

Rule added 8/12/2006:

Keep our message board free of political discussions, please. You may email individual members with such messages, as long as they don't mind. Thanks!!!

Rule added 8/27/2006

It's okay to post about non-IMF events as long as thos events are not the day before, the day of, or the day after one of our events. In other words, please don't post about events that might draw people away from IMF events. Thank you!
