This month, we’ll be exploring the role of a UX Manager!

At a high level, UX Managers are the ones overseeing design teams, mentoring designers, guiding business strategies, and serving as liaisons between other levels of management, departments, or clients. Are you curious to see what a career growth path in the UX field is like? Are you wondering what’s different about a UX management roles compared to other, traditional creative management roles? Come join us as we learn more about what UX Managers do and see if it’s something that interests you.

Because the role can vary so much, we’ll be switching the format to a panel discussion. Our panelists represent a variety of UX managerial roles and have diverse backgrounds and experiences at different types of companies.

Agenda

• 6:30-6:55pm: Sign-in, grab some refreshments
• 6:55pm: Intro
• 7:00-8:00pm: Panel discussion
• 8:00-8:30: Networking

Location

We’re going to be at the PointSource office, located at 6601 Six Forks Rd Suite 200, Raleigh, NC 27615. There is ample parking available. When you get there, take the lobby elevator to the 2nd floor.

RSVPing and the Waitlist

If you were signed up before for the September event, please RSVP again. We didn't transfer over the RSVP list and automatically assume that you could go. If you were on the "Yes I'm attending" list for the postponed event and get put on the waitlist for this rescheduled event and still want to go, please contact Michelle.

We will close the RSVP list by noon on the day of the event. Please be kind to your fellow members and update your RSVP to “No” if you cannot attend the event. We know it’s easier to be less accountable for free events, but we really like to keep these events free to advocate for UX in the community. We really trying to avoid imposing a fee or a 3-strikes policy to hold people accountable.

If the event fills up, you will automatically be put on the waitlist. If someone changes their RSVP to “No” the earliest person on waitlist will be notified that their RSVP has been upgraded from “Waitlist” to “Yes”. Closer to the event, keep an eye out from a message from the organizer.

This gives an opportunity for you to learn about what people do in that particular role, ask them questions, and participate in activity to “test drive” what it’s like to be in this role.
