PBOA August Meeting

It is with great sadness that today we were informed that PBOA member Bart Kartman let us know that his wife passed away tragically in a fire in Deerfield Beach last Saturday afternoon while many of us were fishing the St. Colemans Walk on Water Tournament.

Bart was one of the first members of the PBOA nearly 10 years ago, and was a familiar face to many of us in the fishing gear isles of the old Boater's World Store in Pompano, where he worked for many years.

A truly great fisherman, kind soul and good friend.

The club is going to hold a special fundraiser for Bart at the August meeting and we will hold a raffle with a $450 rod and reel combo donated by Louis at BlueMarlinChronincles.com. Please come to the meeting and give generously to help a fellow fisherman and club member in his time of need.

Guest speaker at the August meeting will be Bill Noftsinger, from the Reel Deal. He is a boat maintenance specialist and will talk about detailing, and answer questions about products and techniques to keep your boat looking like new.

Thanks again to all who helped out with the St. Coleman's Tournament. The Club donated $350 to the Special Olympics of Broward County with our raffle.
