Meeting Scheduled on 5/3/2011
This is a special meeting of the Central Florida Web Developers User Group and we hope you will be able to attend. Gert lives in Switzerland and won't be coming back to Tampa in the foreseeable future. This meeting will be held in Tampa and online.
From start-ups to fortune 500 enterprises developers are constantly pushing to make sure every dollar and every hour are invested in meaningful feature development that differentiates your application from the completion and contributes revenue to the bottom line. As these Web applications grow in complexity, diversity and expressiveness in pursuit of these goals the technology selected to power your business becomes increasingly important. On Tuesday May 10th please join us for a special discussion with Gert Franz the CEO of Railo Technologies to learn more about how Railo—the open source CFML engine—can power your Web applications.
What is Railo?
Railo is an open source JBoss project that provides a website scripting framework that runs on Java and obeys the CFML markup definition.
Why would you want to use Railo?
Railo is a powerful and high performance web framework that allows developers to use a dynamic and mature language that leverages the JVM.
What is Railo Technologies?
Founded in 2003, Railo Technologies produces the open source website scripting framework Railo. Additionally, Railo Technologies provides consulting, support, training and custom development for this high performance open source CFML engine. Railo Technologies is based in Switzerland with offices in the UK and USA.
What problems can Railo help me solve?
While the answer to this question can be best answered during the meeting it is important to understand how Railo can help you create optimized, high performance applications that are high availability (clustered) and easy to scale in a traditional iron server environment or the cloud. Railo is trusted by many, many companies to power mission-critical business applications including: Apple, Intel, Amtrack, Sony and more.
Did you say Railo can scale and has great performance?
Yes. Come see how seven servers can support 14 billion requests a month—that’s seven servers using only 1 virtual CPU and 1GB of ram each—while running a dynamic language on the JVM.
