Two Speakers: HTML5 Animation with Edge and Mobile App Development with Flex

Join us online here:

Join us in Orlando and On-Line!

Join the Central Florida Web Developers User Group for our August meeting in Orlando, Florida (and online) as we discuss Adobe’s new HTMl5 tooling “Edge” presented by Adobe Evangelist Greg Wilson and mobile development using Flex with Adobe Evangelist Holly Schinsky!

Greg Wilson will showcase Adobe Edge—now available from Adobe Labs. Adobe Edge is a motion and interaction design tool that helps designers create animated content using HTML5, JavaScript and CSS3. Using a timeline editor and keyframes designers can create sophisticated animations that control the size, position, color, shape, rotation and other properties of their artwork to create rich content that can be accessed on standards compliant browsers including mobile phones and tablets.

Holly Schinsky will be our headline speaker as she showcases the process behind using Flex to power your mobile applications. With Flex, it is possible to have a single codebase while deploying your application into multiple app stores such as the Android Market, Apple’s App Store, Blackberry App World, Barnes and Noble’s Nook store and Amazon’s Appstore for Android. Holly will share the workflow that empowers developers with tips on device debugging and more.

I thought they shared some really great information not only on HTML5 but also the future of Flash and Adobe's planned role in the industry.

Greg and Holly are awesome. They're both very comfortable speaking and had plenty of good subject matter and knowledge to fill their slots.

For me this meetup was excellent. I'm an experienced developer but a beginner with mobile development. I was shown all the tools necessary as well as the general workflow involved with getting mobile development off the ground. Were I an advanced mobile developer, I would have found the talk less engaging.
