Would you like to host an event or become an event organizer for Chinatown, Little Tokyo and Los Angeles Explorers Meetup group?

Hi!

I am the new organizer of the Meetup Group Chinatown Explorers.

The new name of this group is now Chinatown, Little Tokyo and Los Angeles Explorers

I love both Chinatown and Little Tokyo. This group is also open to any ethnic food or cultural activity or adventure postings  exploring Los Angeles. There are other areas also that might be interesting to explore also such as Monterey Park, San Gabriel, Hacienda Heights (location of the largest Chinese Temple), Thai Town, West L.A., Garden Grove, and even the area you live in!

Meetup groups are a great place to share events - and even if you find one new person that is nice even just one time for one meetup event - it's a great find.  I tend to pick events that are flexible enough that if somebody does not show up - the event still goes on so I take the approach - the more the merrier - but also respect those that want to keep the meetup event to a smaller number of people to create more intimacy and let people get to know each other easier   This does not mean that being a "no show" is acceptable, and you should change your RSVP to "No" if you do not plan to attend.

Would you like to become an event organizer and crosspost your event too?

I love Chinatown and Little Tokyo - touring and eating and finding secrets and hidden gems in many different neighborhoods.

All I ask is that you post one event - and maybe one more after that if it is fun - so don't be afraid to try this out - and I can support you by coming to your event if at all possible.

And I am also open to alternative events. So if you want to expand an event (let's say post an event in another area - no problem.)

I recently have posted an event in several groups that is unusual -
Come to see "Cleopatra: The Exhibition" and the "Mysteries of Egypt" IMAX Movie
http://www.meetup.com/Southern-California-Theater-and-Concert-Goers/events/60012222/

This event is crossposted in other groups (with permission of the owners of the groups) and it is on a weekday, Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 9:45AM. I just wanted to find a friend to go with. Believe it or not - there are 23 people signed up!  Even if just 1/4 of the people show up - 6 people - we'll have a fun group.  (If there are 23 what fun that would be!)

I recently posted a meetup event at Polka (Polish) Restaurant in just one group that I am an event organizer for called Special VIP Lunch at Polka Restaurant in Eagle Rock for delicious Polish Cuisine http://www.meetup.com/Magyar/events/58026892/
Originally intending to have one table for 8 people, there are now 18 people signed up.
I couldn't resist because there are so many nice people in this group - and people you won't meet elsewhere.

I have made a reservation for 3 tables of 6 and we will rotate at each course - so all 18 people get a chance to meet each other.  If less show up - no problem - we can play the same game with 2 tables too.

There are all kinds of opportunities to make people feel welcome and make new friends.

Would you like to try hosting an event?

If you'd like to try hosting an event - just decide on the date and time that you'll be committed to be there and greet new people - and I'll make you an event host (and maybe come along too.)

Please reply back - with your idea - something you'd like to do - (who, what, when, where, why) and I can help you write it up if you'd like to host this event - or you can do it yourself and copy the format of one of the events I have already posted.

Even if you don't want to host an event - please reply back to let me know what types of events you'd be willing to participate in. The more specific the better.

I look forward to hearing back from you.  And please let me know if I have left anything out or you find any mistakes or typos in the group.

Sincerely,

Louis
Organizer
