Saturday FredLug meeting

Since I see several new members, I would like to first welcome all to FredLug. Practical information for Saturday meeting: The  library opens at 9am - we usually meet in meeting-room 1 but there has been time where the library has moved us to a different meeting room.  As the library opens feel free to find the meeting room and find a chair, introduce yourself to everyone else. It usually takes a few minutes to get equipment and sometimes even access to the room. We usually run to 11 - 11.30.

The subject is "The ABC of Linux" - and we'll talk very generic about Linux and what makes Linux work - covering basics elements like grub, kernel, filesystems etc.  There will be very little that's distribution specific so whether you're into ArchLinux, Ubuntu or Fedora - you'll find subjects covered will be relevant.

While the next meetings haven't been scheduled yet, they will be deep-dives into many of the subjects we touch on Saturday. The goal is to provide a general understanding of Linux, the tools and architecture.

Also, FredLug has a mailing list that is not on Meetup - anyone can join - please do, it's a very low traffic mailing list: http://calypso.tux.or....

Looking forward to see everyone.
