Welcome to a whole new way of shopping... Swap - Don't shop -for all the clothing, shoes and accessories you can take home!
This swap is for all sizes from 0-30
We are accepting clothing FROM ALL SEASONS FOR ALL FUTURE SWAPS. I PUT OUT A POLL AND HANDS DOWN, ALL SEASONS WON...
Please bring at least 5 pieces of clothing and 2 accessories (jewelry, handbags, scarves etc.) to add to our tables. Also shoes!
Swap from 2PM - 4PMish - we will pack up earlier than 4 if everyone clears out early. Please come on time;)
Clothing drop off from 1:00-1:30
Volunteers - please arrive at 12:15 to set up the tables. Please be prompt as we have less time to set up now.
Vendors please arrive promptly at 12:30 to set up your tables and to be ready for the swappers who are dropping their clothing off at 1:00.
CHECK IN TABLE:
Stop by the check in table and pay your $10.00 donation. (or $7 pre-paid online via paypal to kim@ffclothingswap.com)
Once payment has been made, you will receive a wristlet to show you paid. You will also receive one large blue Ikea bag that you may use for holding and carrying your swap finds in. Each person should only have ONE Ikea bag and each bag is to only be filled once. Going out to your car and dumping the clothes to come back and start a new bag WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Please do your part and follow the rules! If you are bringing your ikea bag filled with clothing to your car, you will have to turn in your wrist band and not be allowed back on the swap floor.
Head over to the sorting table and drop off your clothing to be inspected and sorted. It is at that time you should return your bags (other than the IKEA bag) to your cars.
Do not have your children or spouses carry a bag for you – this is dishonest and ruins the spirit of the charity.
If you bring your bag back to the next swap, you will get in for the pre-paid price of $7.00. (even at the door)
Please write your name in permanent ink on the inside of the bag since they are all identical and can easily be confused for someone else’s.
The reason we went with the Ikea bags is because there have been too many people just shoveling clothing, clothing that were clearly not even their size, into huge industrial sized garbage bags –it was obvious that they were selling them, THIS RUINS THE SPIRIT OF THE SWAP! This is an altruistic group – working for the benefit of those in need. We don’t earn an income, we simply recoup the costs we lay out of pocket for all the things that need to be purchased for each swap. Keep in mind where these clothing are going after the swap. Domestic Violence Shelters! So while you are benefitting by gaining lots of new to you items, the main goal is to have plenty left over for the shelters and to raise money for RAINN.
This raise in fee price will help pay for the added expenses I have been paying out of pocket and still have plenty of funds left for RAIIN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network). Leadership team members will not pay. Volunteers will pay a $7 price, once they are confirmed as volunteers, and will be able to get 3 pre-swap items, and front -of-line entry into the swap, once it officially opens. Vendors pay $5 on top of their table fees if they are swapping as well as selling.
I have collected lots of great items from the good people of etsy and around town for great raffle items and swag bag items! Please take the time to visit our sponsor's sites and support their small businesses! We couldn't raise money for RAINN without these sponsors so please.. show your gratitude and support to them!
There will be no "waiting line" as we are using a new facility and they have requested that our members wait in the cafeteria down the hall. There are seats outside of the room but you are NOT to wait there. Please go to the cafeteria.
After you drop off your items to be sorted, you may leave and come back at 2:00. Or you can hang around, maybe shop with the vendors that will be set up (bring some cash- there will be lots to choose from)... or wait in the cafeteria down the hall. Enjoy DJ Kat who will be entertaining us again! I will open the swap up 5 minutes early to those who volunteered to help set up. Each volunteer can choose 3 items for themselves in the 5 minutes given. There will be a 50/50 raffle to benefit RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) so please bring a few bucks if you plan on purchasing a ticket or two.
We are also open to vendors for this swap for the mere price of $50.00 per table plus 1 item for a future raffle! Contact me directly at kim@ffclothingswap.com to get on the vendors list. Tables are first come, first serve. Table fees are non-refunable so please only make payment if you are absolutely sure you can make it.
Swappers - If you plan on purchasing anything from any of the vendors - please remember to bring cash - - -
Some money will be recouped for the soda I provide & any supplies I purchase and the rest will go to RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network)
GLAM TIME!
J from 5 STAR MOBILE SALON, INC. will be there with her crew offering free glam up-do's for our guests!
Tips are appreciated!
Make sure clothing is clean, no stains, no holes, rips or tears and no broken buttons or zippers. If you would be PROUD to pass it on to your girlfriends, than you should bring it. Please do not bring undergarments.
To avoid having stained and ripped items as some people bring regardless of the rules, we now reserve the right to go through your clothing at the drop off point to ensure your items are decent enough to swap. Please don't embarress yourselves by bringing undesirable clothing.
If you should find something unswappable on any of the tables, please remove it. No one should be disappointed because it's everyone's jobs to police the tables for non-wearables;)
If you are bringing guests, please ensure to add them to your RSVP.
Last, but not least, bring your swaptastik attitude and plan to come and have a blast!
Please take pictures of yourselves with your swap finds and post it on meetup and facebook! We'd love to see what you all have found!
Happy Swapping!
Kim
