The Fort Lauderdale Coworking meetup is a gathering of freelancers and remote workers located in and around Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Working from home offers flexibility and convenience for many, but there are disadvantages. Isolation, distractions and difficulty separating work/home life are a few of the downfalls of working from a home office.

As such, this group was created to bring freelancers and remote workers together to work for a few hours, a few days a week at various locations around Fort Lauderdale.  The group works from the community room at Panera on Federal Hwy, Borders on Sunrise and Brew Cafe in Victoria Park.

According to Wikipedia, coworking is a style of work which involves a shared working environment. Unlike in a typical office environment, those coworking are usually not employed by the same organization. Coworking is the social gathering of a group of people, who are still working independently, but who share values, and who are interested in the synergy that can happen from working with talented people in the same space.
