Come learn the necessary steps for injury free workouts that leave you feeling great and ready for your next session! Set yourself up for a successful workout with these before, during and after exercise must-dos:
First, learn about dynamic warm-ups and why you should be performing these before hitting the gym. We will go through a great dynamic workout you can start using at your next workout.
Next, learn what a "neutral spine" is, why it is important, and how it is the basic foundation of every exercise within your workout.
Finally, learn about ending your workout with static stretching, either immediately after your exercise is done or right when you get home. Again, we'll lead you through some stretches you can start working into your own routine immediately.
Please come dressed to move! You will be taken through dynamic warmups, taught how to set a neutral spine, perform a few basic exercises, and finish with static stretching. Learning these basic foundations will help you feel more comfortable in the gym, confident you are performing exercises correctly, and help prevent injury during workouts.
This class will be lead by Wesley Keith, personal trainer and owner of 22nd Street Barbell, and assisted by Dr. Abbie Mork of Price Performance Chiropractic.
