Due to the success of our First Dining in the Dark/9 Principles of Adventure Event (click link to see reviews), I am offering this event once more - this time with a fully Vegan menu.
ATTN: Last time around, this event filled up very quickly. Pleae RSVP ASAP TYVM. If you have already secured one of the YES RSVPs, please take care of payment as the food purchasing depends on it and there maybe people waiting to take your place if payment is not made on time.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO FORWARD A LINK TO THIS PAGE IF YOU ARE INVOLVED WITH A VEGAN OR VEGETARIAN COMMUNITY THAT MIGHT FIND THIS ADVENTURE TO THEIR LIKING! If you are a non-vegetarian, who missed the first event, this is your chance to jump into the double Adventure of eating a fine-dining Vegan meal AND doing it in the dark!
This will be a very cool two part Adventure.
The first part will happen as the evening unfolds and darkness falls. It will feature a talk and discussion featuring The 9 Principles of Adventure. They are principles you can use everyday for the rest of your life if you choose.
After an evening stroll, the second part of the evening will commence just outside the door as you line up, receive a blindfold and are then led inside to a unique gourmet meal experienced in total darkness.
(I've just finished talking to the caterer who did an amazing job with our first event. She's planned another incredible Vegan meal that will be rich with variety and sumptuous with ingredients.
Here's how the event will transpire:
We will meet at 7:15PM on Friday night. For the first 15 minutes we'll introduce ourselves and get comfortable. Please be on time out of respect for the event and your fellow participants.
The 9 Principles of Adventure
This evening's talk could mark a turning point for you. Looking at things through the lens of Adventure is a gift you can grant yourself - especially when you are given the tools to create an even more Adventurous life of your own. Passion, purpose and success are delivered at velocity to the Adventurous Spirit.
I've been studying Adventure for some time and have gathered an array of fascinating material that you'll enjoy hearing. Each point is unique and has the power to initiate a positive transformation if you take it to heart. It might even get downright spiritual. Come with an open mind, positive attitude and a receiving heart and you'll make the most of it.
They say a moderate walk prior to a meal makes the food even more appreciated. Following our talk, we'll take a beautiful walk about 25 minutes long featuring a stellar view of the Vancouver nighttime skyline from the North Shore waterfront. This will allow us to prepare the dining area for the evening's sumptuous meal.
Upon our return, you will be issued a blindfold, which you may wear for the entire meal. (You may take it off once dinner begins if you want.) It will still be very dark. Your remaining senses will be tingling and enhanced as you consume your meal, which will be designed to be enticing, delicious and vibrant.
The meal will be served with water only in order to maximize the experience of tasting the food and minimze spill impact.
There is an event restaurant called Opaque that offers a similar experience. The price for their dinner is $100 plus tax/tip. This is a comparative bargain. It will fill up. www.DarkDining.com
Upon completion of the meal, we will light a candle and share with each other about our own experiences of the evening. Herbal Tea will be available.
This is a one-of-a-kind date, so invite a friend if you'd like.
The reason that payment is collected up front is that we'll be catering this for a specific number of people. Your RSVP will only be completed once you've finalized payment.
The payment deadline is Wednesday, July 2nd. Your RSVP will be canceled to make room for wait listed people if payment has not arrived by that time. If you RSVP and fail to show up, the food will be bought and the caterer paid regardless, so there will be no refunds if you cancel within 48 hours of the event - or fail to show up.
If you contact me directly for an exception to be made for some reason, I will consider extenuating circumstances for people who cannot use Paypal.
Cash and checks are also acceptable.
Things to remember:
Eat a later lunch. We won't be getting to the food section until after 10PM.
Don't wear your best white blouse.
Bring a dish towel if you anticipate that you might be eating with your hands.
If there are any things that you cannot eat, i.e. you are allergic to a food, please alert us.
See your there - or maybe I'll just have to feel you there since it'll be PITCH BLACK!
