Keep your RSVP up-to-date

The best thing you can do as a Member is RSVP to Meetups. It is really important to RSVP as soon as possible for an upcoming Meetup. Organizers count on Members to let them know beforehand if they will or will not be attending. They use this information to make reservations or to choose an appropriate venue.

It is equally important to keep your RSVP up to date. If you realize that you can't attend a Meetup, please change your RSVP right away. Otherwise the whole Group might end up waiting around for you to arrive! You might even be taking up one of a limited number of 'Yes' spots on the list, so changing your RSVP may open up a new spot for another Member who is hoping to attend. Also, it helps keep your membership in good standing -- habitual "no shows" will be removed from the group.

Invite Your Friends!

You will have even more fun, and so will they!

Send Greetings!

Welcome, thank or rave to members by posting a greeting on their profile. (But first, one of our rules is that your profile must have a recent photo of you as your primary photo before communicating with other members.)

Create and Lead Your Own Event!

Attend a few of our events first to get a feel for how things work. Then email the organizer to learn how to get started.

Add Your Photos

Our event photo system is automated so anyone can submit photos from any event.

Come Back!

RSVP POLICY

If you have RSVPed "Yes" for an event, please be sure to show up! Being a person we can rely on is what we love and keeps good karma on your side!

What can you do in the rare event that you cannot make it to a meetup which you have RSVPed "yes"?

- Change your RSVP as soon as possible!

- IF LESS THAN 24 HOURS before the meetup, please send a personal email to the organizer of the event (go to the calendar, find the meetup, click on the organizer's name, send an email). OR call the organizer's phone number if provided. It's polite and helps to keep your good karma going, and the organizer won't have to wonder what happened to you.

Please note: It is most important to keep your RSVP up-to-date for any event where space is limited.

BTW, we DO track no-shows, so for any future event we may prefer other people over those who have been "no shows" in the past. We may also prefer people with real photos posted of themselves since from our experience they are more likely to attend.

Thank you for doing your part to making Eastside Single Meetup a friendly and fun group to hang out with!

DO's and DON'Ts

- DO use your real first name, first name and intial, or initials and last name.
- DO KEEP YOUR RSVP UP-TO-DATE. Often space is reserved and limited, so an accurate count is needed. As the event approaches, organizers may change an RSVP to "no" for any member who has been a "no show" for any event in the past, or has no photo posted, or has RSVPed "maybe"

- DO NOT email someone that you have not met in person
- DO NOT send ANY greetings if you don't yet have a picture on your profile
- DO NOT send a second greeting/email if your first one was not reciprocated
- DO NOT send emails/greetings to promote a business
- DO NOT go to a specific event's page and tell people about an alternative event happening at the same time.

DO report members "creeping you out"
- The Organizer WILL remove any member that makes other members feel unsafe, violates group rules, meetup terms of service, or is disruptive to the harmony of the group

- A person that has been removed from our group is not eligible to attend events as a guest of another member.
- Organizers of our events have the last say and may remove members from events or this group for any reason.
- Organizers will delete comments or postings on our web pages that they feel are inappropriate

Organizers take care in organizing events, but please remember that you participate at your own risk.

What if you see any inappropriate content on the site?
If you see anything on the Meetup site that you think might be inappropriate, you can forward a link to the page where it appears to abuse@meetup.com. We'll look at it from here and take any appropriate action.

What if you receive an inappropriate message?
If you receive a message that you think may be inappropriate, please forward it to abuse@meetup.com. It's a good idea not to respond to the message, as doing so may just escalate the situation, no matter how nice you are.

What if something inappropriate happened at a Meetup?
The first thing to do is to contact your Group Organizer, and let him or her know that you felt uncomfortable. It's a really good idea to give the Organizer the ability to handle it from there.
