Old Boney Trails, 15 miles/2,700+

Details
This hike replaces our Vulture Peak 20-miler. Too hot to hike in Ojai on Friday with temps in the 90's. We'll do a big loop in the foothills of Boney Mountain and cover trails on both east and west side of Sycamore Canyon. Our lunch stop will be in the beautiful Danielson Ranch picnic area.
As long as you've never been a "no show," you'll be added from the waitlist so sign up there. Don't sign up if you've been a "no show"; you won't be added.
I'm bringing friends as guests. Everyone else must be signed up, thereby agreeing to Meetup's Release of Liability.
Trailblazing? No, these trails have been trodden before.
Exploratory? Yes, because I'll follow the map to go a trail I haven't hiked--easy enough.
Bushwacking? No, just some high grasses on a short xc section.
Terrain: Single track, fireroad, asphalt, short xc.
What's on the Trail? Restrooms: in parking lot, 0.8 miles from start of hike, portapotty at mile markers 2.2, 11.5 & 12.8; Potable spigot water on trail at mileage marker 2.2, 11.5, 12.8 (so we don't have to carry so much water). We could also stash our own water after 2.2 miles to pick up on return (lollipop loop hike).
Time & Place: We start hiking promptly at 7:30AM so arrive EARLIER. Directions to our Newbury Park meeting place will be emailed to participants.
Sunset: 6:41PM.
Bring: The ten essentials. Trekking poles if you like using them. Headlamp, snacks, lunch, water.
Wear: Layers, hiking shoes/boots with lug soles.
Dogs: No dogs allowed, because we're in a state park.
