Adventure Hiking--rocky, cacti, thistle, grasses, & foxtails-whoo hoo! 5:15PM

This hike is especially for Steve and anyone else who wants to enjoy a local hidden gem--Camarillo Regional Park right next to Cal State University Channel Islands (CSUCI). We'll do an easy loop, skirting the peaks but not going all the way to the top ... no time to do that and finish before dark.

If you want a bit of adventure, and a change from easy single track and fire road, this hike should suit you.

Participants are added from the waitlist if they have never been a "no show."

No Guests. Everyone must be signed up, thereby agreeing to Meetup's Release of Liability.

Trailblazing? No, these trails have been trodden before.

Exploratory? No, Been There, Done That.

Bushwacking? Yes. Although the fire crews have done a great job opening up the trails, there's still a some little bit of brush and lots of cacti.

CSUCI Peak -- on the very right.

Rhombus Rock -- the rocky outcropping on the left of CSUCI Peak.

ESTIMATED Stats: 3.5 - 4.5 miles/600' - 800'

Terrain: Fire road, single track, thistle, cacti, foxtails, tall grasses, brushy trails.

Bring: Water, snack for self, trekking poles if you like using them.

Wear: Layers, boots with lug soles, long pants for cacti protection.

Dogs: Well behaved, leashed dogs welcome if they don't mind the terrain. Please clean up after your dog.
