You and your family are invited to join Naturalist For You and The Nature Conservancy and explore a nature preserve along the Santa Clara River, one of the least altered rivers in California. Identify local wildlife and plants. Relax along the riverbank. Take your shoes off and take a dip in the cool water. Appropriate for children.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS Santa Clara River Property (East of Ventura/West of Santa Paula) Take CA-126 Exit 9 Briggs Rd R on Briggs Rd R on Pinkerton Rd L on Mission Rock Rd Continue to dead-end and park by gate

Hikes are FREE and open to the public. Please meet on site at 10 am and please carpool if possible. Hikes will be approximately 2 hours and are dependent upon the weather. A professional from Naturalist For You will be leading the hike. The hiking difficulty will be easy to moderate. Hike Rules Rules will be presented at the beginning of each hike. Each participant will be required to complete a Liability Release Form prior to beginning the hike. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Special Instructions/Supplies: Please arrive at least 15 minutes before start time. Bring a minimum of 1 quart (32 oz) of water per person. Bring snacks and/or full meal. Wear weather protection (jacket, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc.), durable hiking socks and close-toed hiking shoes (extra pair for wet tours), long pants, and backpack for snacks. Bring swimsuit and towel for wet tours. Bring first aid kit (Band-Aids, antiseptic, allergy medicine, tweezers, etc.) and cell phone. Bring flashlight/headlamp and layered clothing for evening tours. Walking sticks are recommended for tours with stream crossings or uneven terrain. Bring trash bag for litter along the trail.
