Balanced Rock & Beyond, Adventure Hike in Boney Wilderness

Trailblazing? No; these trails have been trodden before.

Exploratory? Maybe, but mostly we're on trails I know very well.

Bushwacking? Yes, it can be brushy at this time of year.

Estimated Stats: Under 12 miles/ under 3,500'.

Terrain: Some steep, rocky, slippery trails, class 3 rock scramble.

Pace: Moderate, perhaps 2.5mph moving average; 2mph overall average. Participants stay between leader and sweep. No rushing ahead. No tigers or turtles.

Directions: Will be emailed to participants.
Level: This will suit you if you're used to the stats.

Bring: Snacks, lunch, water, the ten essentials (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Essentials). Trekking poles a plus. We return before sunset, but you should always bring a headlamp.
Wear: Layers, long pants and sleeves for brush/tick protection, hiking shoes/boots with lug soles, gloves for steep & slippery trails/brush protection.
Dogs: Sorry, no dogs for this one.
