Although this is an urban walk in Camarillo, our loop includes a beautiful secluded shady baranca, greenbelt areas with views of Western Plateau, Conejo Mountain, Boney Mountain, and Rhombus Rock, and a pathway along the Calleguas Creek. Less than a mile will be on streets.http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/7/9/2/d/event_49111021.jpeg

Directions: In Camarillo, from Flynn Road, turn east on Calle Brisa, then first driveway on right to enter Pitts Ranch Park.
Parking: Free, in the parking lot or on the street.
Time: Please plan to arrive earlier. We leave when everyone arrives and wait until 5:30PM at the latest. If you're lacing up your boots at 5:30PM, we'll be gone.
Estimated Stats: 5 - 5.5 miles/400' elevation gain
Route: Leader's choice, and will be different from last time.
What's on the trail? We usually spot rabbits, squirrels, frogs, red-tailed hawks, and wildflowers in the natural areas. We'll have a break with restrooms about half-way through walk.
Level: Easy if you're used to the stats.
Pace: Moderate, and set to that of the slowest walker so we can stay together as a group. No rushing ahead, no tigers or turtles.
Bring: Water, snack for yourself, first aid kit. We should return before dark, but for afternoon hikes you should always carry a headlamp/flashlight.
Wear: Lug soles/hiking shoes are best because we're on trails for half the hike, but tennis shoes will be fine.
Dogs: Leashed dogs welcome. Please clean up after your dog.
FYI: There are restrooms where we meet, and in Mission Oaks Park on our hike.
