A Comedian-ologist is someone who has mastered the art, technique, and business of Comedy. As with any field of study, Comedy is a learnable skill that requires dedication, passion, and commitment to master. Natural talent, while a tremendous gift, is only useful if you can learn to hone, shape, utilize, and consistently draw from it on a routine basis.

The Comedian-ologists of New York Meetup is a venue for comics of all levels to learn, support each other, network, and grow. The group is open to all (unless you’re a dick), but it’s geared towards people interested in making a career out of comedy. Events will focus primarily on traditional stand-up, though we will also hold events related to sketch, improv, and humor/TV writing for those interested.
