I am currently producing a web series with the focus of shattering stereotypes and debunking social myths. I love that I can publish the stories that matter to me without any interference from any outside forces, and then they are immediately available to the people that they would matter to. I'm not sure if I want to try pursuing a career in traditional journalism or if I want to stay in New Media Land. I really like New Media Land, and I think it's the future, but I'm not really sure how to turn it into a career, so I'm looking for help, feedback, advice and possibly collaborators. You can check out my work at www.WhereIDontBelong.com
I am particularly interested in how the internet makes it possible for every story under the sun to have a place. In traditional news, there would be limitations on time and staff, so some stories would fall by the wayside. Now, any story can make an impact if it gets enough retweets or shares. It's awesome. :) I want to explore how others are making this dynamic work for them so that I can learn how to make it work for me.
Hi! I'm Kiwi! I was an actress for a long time, and then I realized that the stories I was really interested in were happening to real people, right now, so I've decided to become a journalist instead. I definitely made the right choice. :)
