It was great! I learned a lot and the format made me "finish" a game.

I was recently thinking of getting into game jams and game development in general (just joined today). I don't have any experience in game development at all, though. Is this game jam geared more towards experienced developers? Would a total beginner get any use or benefit out of this?

Of course buddy! We welcome all new people. It's a very friendly environment. You can use the time to learn a new game development tool or spend the time just watching others make games and asking questions.

Not too familiar with game jams, are any resources people need to bring to be able to participate?

The only thing you will need to bring is a laptop. We will supply anything else you need. Just to give a quick summary of what a game jam is essentially when you spend a weekend building a game with team of other people.
