On April 28th, The Names Project Foundation will bring their passion and agent of change spirit to TPAN for panel making workshops for The Quilt. The Quilt is composed of more than 47,000 individual 3 x 6 foot panels, each one commemorating the life of someone who has died of AIDS. These panels come from every state in the nation, every corner of the globe and they have been sewn by hundreds of thousands of friends, lovers and family members into this epic memorial, the largest piece of ongoing community art in the world. Chicago, here is how we get involved!
The workshops have been designed to draw attention to a public health crisis, by fostering the creation of new panels for The Quilt made by African Americans in honor of their friends, family and community who have died of AIDS.
Materials are provided. Please feel free to bring any personal items you wish to integrate or will assist in creating a panel in honor of your loved ones. We will begin at noon, Saturday April 28th, at TPAN. Tell your friends! See you there!
