What: Chromecast: Bringing your Android Content to the Big Screen with Google CastHave you ever wanted to expand your Android app to enable a multi-screen experience, leveraging large display devices like a television? Google Cast allows you to share content with a Google Cast receiver device, such as a Chromecast. Google Cast Android senders use the familiar controls of your android phone or tablet to control the experience of your application on the big screen. In this class, we will talk about Android sender app development. We will also cover some of the best practices to keep your Cast experience simple, intuitive, and predictable.
Who: Kevin Nilson works at Google as the team lead of the Chromecast Technical Solutions Engineer team. Kevin is a Java Champion and three-time JavaOne Rock Star. Kevin has spoken at conferences such as JavaOne, Devoxx, O'Reilly Fluent, NFJS SpringOne, JAX, Silicon Valley Code Camp, HTML5DevConf, On Android and AjaxWorld. He is also the co-author of "Web 2.0 Fundamentals." In the past, Kevin was an adjunct professor at the College of San Mateo. Kevin holds a MS and BS in Computer Science from Southern Illinois University. He is the leader of the Silicon Valley Java User Group, Silicon Valley Google Developer Group, Silicon Valley JavaScript Meetup and Devoxx4Kids Bay Area.

Where: Dodger Stadium room, Google Los Angeles, 340 Main St, Venice
Parking: Attendees may use Google's underground parking structure. Drive between the two binoculars in the front of the Google office located at 340 Main St. in Venice, CA. Then use the buzzer on the left hand side of the driveway before the gate to let reception know you are here for "GDG Los Angeles Chromecast talk". Once access is granted, you may drive below to the underground parking structure and self park. Please take the elevator to floor 1, where a Googler will be waiting to assist with name badges and escorting to the Dodger Stadium room. See attached photo and map.
