I got to play Star Trek Catania, Sentinels of the Multiverse, Gloom, Tsuro of the Sea, and some other resource based Euro. I got to play a favorite and a couple of games I hadn't played before. I had a lot of good conversations.

Do people normally stick around for the evenings (after 6)?

I've been meaning to ask about the DnD games that go on at these meetups. Is it the sort of thing where you can walk in, roll up a character, and join the group at any time, or is it a more organized, roleplay-heavy affair?

I'm not 100% sure but I know Burl's game has had people jump in before. Not sure about Nick's game. Can always ask the GM.

There are 2 conventions that weekend. Con Of The North near plymouth MN. and Aniem milwaukee, a 8 hour drive from MN.

You are right! There are members who will be going to conventions threw out the year. I myself will be at CONvergence in July. But not every member of the meet up is a Con-goer or has the money to go. There are many things that a convention can offer that UGG can't. But UGG can offer game events year round. And like game stores, UGG might not get the same turnout on Con weekends. But we could still offer our events. After all, we all wants to help spread the joy of games. For those that are going to any convention, I hope you have fun. Enjoy some games, maybe try out some new games. I hope you meet new and enjoyable people. And just maybe tell those new people about the UGG events. :) Have fun, keep gaming.

Yeah, as someone with a young kid and a wife whose not thrilled with cons, I'm happy UGG doesn't stop the gaming nights when they're in town. After all, it takes only a few people to make an enjoyable board game night. UGG OG has no problem filling that even on the least attended nights. :)
