Basic Aikido: At the Shuharikan Dojo

Details

Come and learn the basics of the Japanese Martial Art of Aikido with Geek Physique and our fine friends from the Shuharikan dojo! This 6 part class will cover the basic techniques you need to build a solid foundation in the study of Aikido. This will also be a "low-impact" class with no falls, throws or pins for the first five classes. (The sixth class will be at the Shuharikan dojo, and will include the option of falls on the dojo's mats.)

The course will run on Tuesdays from May 6th-June 10th.

Our Instructors will teach us the "Basic Movements" of Aikido as well as holds and control techniques. The course is designed to improve balance, flexibility, and confidance. Pre-Registration is required and the fee for the entire course is $25. Course is limited to 30 students. Please RSVP now, and you will be contacted by Geek Physique staff to arrange payment details.

The final class is a "Field Trip" to the dojo to experience what a typical class is like, meet other Shuharikan instructors and students, and see a live demonstration of Aikido techniques in action presented by our Instructors and Senior students. (This by itself is totally worth it!!!) Participants must be 15 years or older (those under 18 with require permission of Parent or guardian to participate.)

This marks the fourth year of Geek Physique's partnership with the Shuharikan dojo. They have provided many hours of excellent, and Geek-worthy, martial arts training. The instructors are top-notch, and fantastic human beings to boot!
