Dominique Broeglin (https://www.meetup.com/genevarb/members/96745202/) will present Puppet:
«As we acquire more and more systems to manage, automating the tasks involved in setting up and maintaining them is becoming increasingly important.
Most of the time, ad-hoc scripts and tools have been built to help. However, those scripts are usually not reusable in another environment.
Puppet is an open source tool that helps system administrators build and share tools for those tasks. It can automate the creation of Linux, Mac OS X or even Windows system. It scales from setting up a handful of identical development environments to deploying and maintaining thousands of production systems.
This presentation will introduce Puppet, it's design and philosophy, and then demonstrate how it can be used to setup systems for a DevOps project.
Starting with the development machines and moving on to the QA and production environments.»
Michaël Fisher (https://www.meetup.com/genevarb/members/89643292/) will give us some of his favorites Rails recipes:
«Je vous propose des solutions à des problèmes que vous avez sans doute rencontré. ActionMailer, tracking utilisateur et url's "seo friendly" seront au programme.»
